Manga-ka Music!

Need Musical Inspiration?

While working long hours on Edara (whether its sketching, inking, editing, or any of the other multiple steps involved in the manga-ka process) Kado and I get very... well... uninspired.  On a few occasions I've even felt "WHY AM I DOING THIS?!"  Well the answer, I'm slightly crazy!  And also, I have a secret arsenal of music I play while working.

What kind of music should I play?

I suggest anything that reminds you of your story, something that paints an image in your mind.  I like J-pop and J-rock while working, they get me in the manga-ka mood.  Once you get all your supplies and a comfortable place to work, try bringing along an ipod (or your portable cd player if you're 'old school' like Hana) and losing yourself in your art, as well as THEIR art!

Hana's Playlist-- Here are some bands I regularly listen to while working.

Alice Nine (for a nice, calm rock)

An Cafe (a great pick-me-up as well!)

Angela

Aoi Teshima (quite relaxing)

Asian Kung-Fu Generation ('cause I love them XD)

Dir En grey (only while drawing intense emotional scenes)

Music from the Eureka Seven soundtrack

FLOW

Gazette (again, intense emotional scenes)

Gollbetty (for a good upbeat fun scene)

Hide (...because we all loved him ; ;)

Kagrra (a wonderful blend of traditional Japanese and J-rock.)

L'Arc En Ciel (a classic)

Midnight Pumpkin (Nyappy~)

Miyavi (nice rock and acoustic, and a nice voice~)

Orange Range ("Arigatou o kimi e...")

The Pillows/ FLCL Soundtrack (WHAT A CATCHY SONG! 8D)

Rentrer En Soi

Sugizo (very relaxing [or the songs I have])

X-Japan (their ballads can brign tears to your eyes...)

Yoshiki (...So can his)
