Other facts about the two: Hana is a complete j-rock fanatic. You could say the most simple thing to her and she'll relate it to J-rock. She has seen Dir En Grey in concert, and impatiently awaits GAZETTE to get their BUTTS OVER TO AMERICA! *twitches wildly* <.<>.>
Kado is a [bit] of a klutz, able to trip the same shoe she pointed out to herself two seconds beforehand.
Both are known to have old-lady-like antics (including names like Ethel and Agnes.) Put them together with some art materials, you have an unstoppable manga-ka team. Put them together in the KITCHEN, on the other hand, you better "head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire!" Hana and Kado have been known for: French Fry Burns, Potato cuts, toast-in-the-eyes, trouble putting rice away, fettuccini welts, croissants-in-the-ear, grapes-in-eyes, exploding hot cocoa, charcoal "snickerdoodles", etc. etc.
The History Behind Kado, Hana, & Edara.
Hana-- I started drawing back when I was.... a wee one. I would go over to my friend's house and we would pretend we were in a photobooth (cuz we were too poor to actually go to one) and then run over to the table and draw ourselves. Lame, but it got me into art. A series of artbooks and sketchbooks kept me satisifed. Anime came into my resume in 6th grade, thanks to Nao-chan. After a whopping TEN manga ideas floated in and out of my interest, I began trying to perfect my style. Trust me, it was ten:
FullColor Caffeine, Hackers' Delight, Kutabacchi, Totem, Suki No ROCK, Crazaed something-or-other, Misplaced, Foreign-chan, Alic3 blah blah blah blah... Some were good ideas, but my art stunk.
Kado-- HEHGHGHEEHEBEHHGHGHHH.
Then one night, Hana had a strange dream after being on the computer for a good 12 hours straight about being sucked into her computer. It was scary, but that got her thinking of new ideas for manga. How could I incorporate that into an awesome storyline? Fiddling around with some doodles she had done while watching FMA, Hana came up with rough (VERY rough) sketches of Kiyoshi and the two girls. The product, after much MUCH disscussion with Kado, was Edara. They wrote countless storyboards, character profiles, panel-by-panel descriptions, even scripts. The first line was drawn sometime in the summer of 2006, and the rest was a steady uphill incline from there.
